Get Pre-Approved for a Home Mortgage
Pre-approval is a must. Being pre-approved for a home mortgage makes the home buying process much easier. Within a matter of hours you’re able to know how much home you can afford. And, when you find your home, you’ll be able to finalize your financing more quickly since you’ve already begun the process. If you’re not already pre-approved, we can help. Community and Location
Location can make all the difference. Ask yourself what community features are important to you. Think about the proximity to work, schools, grocery stores, highways, medical centers, amenities and attractions. Make a list and do some research. Currently, Rodrock Homes builds custom homes in 11 different communities throughout Johnson County, including Overland Park, Lenexa, Leawood, Shawnee and Olathe. We take great care in choosing our communities, opting for those with award-winning school districts, nationally recognized hospitals, and a variety of shopping and area attractions. And, if you find a home site you love somewhere else, we’ll build there too!
Make a Wish List
What features do you want in your new home? Think size, quantity and style. How many bedrooms and bathrooms do you need? Do you want space for a family game room, a home office, or both? And what about amenities – want sand volleyball, basketball or tennis courts? Looking for a community pool? Also take note of what features are on your wish list and which are must-haves. Make your list, keep it with you as you do your research and have it available when you talk with your New Home Specialist.

Build, Close and Move In to Your New Home
A custom home from Rodrock Homes takes about six months to build from the ground up. You can, of course, buy a home in any stage of the building process. As construction wraps up, you’ll schedule your closing. At closing, you’ll sign closing documents and soon after take possession of your new home. Come with camera in hand, as it’s destined to be an exciting day you’ll want to remember!
