The family owned and operated construction business is finalizing its entries for the 63rd annual Fall Parade of Homes. This showcase of single family residential possibilities is one of the longest running events of this type in the nation. With record low interest rates, furnished new model homes available for touring in new communities, Rodrock Homes is anticipating the next two weeks to be very busy.
There is something magical about a parade. Whether it is the precision marching of the bands, brightly decorated floats, or the amazing outfits of the riders on horseback, almost everyone has their own memory from a parade. The Fall Parade of Homes may not have the trappings of a typical parade, but Rodrock Homes is attempting to create some special memories for homebuyers during the next two weeks.
The tour, first held in 1947, is sponsored by the Greater Kansas City Home Builders Association and runs October 2nd – 17th. There is no admission charge to view any of the homes which are located near Kansas City and the surrounding area. Of the 199 homes entered, 109 are on the Kansas side, with the rest in Missouri. All of the entries will be open from 11:00am to 6:00pm daily.
Brian Rodrock, president of Rodrock Homes, says his company has been putting the finishing touches on several new floor plans for this tour. “There are three new model homes in two new communities that have not been a part of any previous tours,” said Rodrock. He continued “We have 10 different floor plans this fall ranging from 1,950 to 3,454 square feet. Our goal is to display the full spectrum of what we have to offer as opposed to showing the same plan over and over again.”
With the variety of floor plans in five different neighborhood communities, in three cities, being represented by four of the best school districts in the state of Kansas, the Johnson County homebuilder strives to have something for everybody. Rodrock commented “There are some homebuyers that only want to be in the Blue Valley School District, while others say they will only live in the city of Lenexa or Olathe. We understand one key to success is having the right product in the right location.”
The semi-custom home builder is expecting a great turnout during the fall tour. There are potential homebuyers ready to take advantage of the low interest rate before those rates increase. Other people will come out to get ideas for a remodeling project on their existing home, while some just want to see the decorating ideas for the season.
Even as final preparations are being made for the homes that will be a part of this tour, Rodrock Homes is continuing to look toward the future. As people walk through the 12 model homes the residential builder has on display in the next two weeks, construction will begin on three new models to be available for the Spring 2011 Homes Tour. Five new homes starts each will be going up in Meadows of Mills Farm in Overland Park as well as Bristol Ridge located in Lenexa. Besides, it’s never too early to get ready for the next parade.
